BAKTI Conference 2026 is a 3-day international academic conference bringing together researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and practitioners to address one of Indonesia's most consequential economic questions: how can digital technology accelerate rural economic development?
Indonesia's rural and frontier regions (daerah 3T, Tertinggal, Terdepan, Terluar) represent an untapped economic opportunity. With nearly half of Indonesia's population living outside major urban centers, closing the digital divide is not just a matter of equity. It is a pathway to national GDP growth.
BAKTI Conference 2026 combines rigorous academic research with policy dialogue and industry engagement across four thematic tracks. The conference features peer-reviewed paper presentations, keynote addresses by national and international leaders, technical workshops, a technology exhibition, and a unique field visit to a 3T community in Labuan Bajo where digital infrastructure is transforming livelihoods.
We invite researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and innovators to submit papers, attend sessions, and join us in shaping Indonesia's digital future — from infrastructure to inclusion.
Paper submissions are opening soon.
Proposed date: 23 Mar 2026 - 31 May 2026
BAKTI Conference 2026 is jointly organized by Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia, CNN Indonesia, and BAKTI Komdigi (Badan Aksesibilitas Telekomunikasi dan Informasi, Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital Republik Indonesia).
The conference responds to the urgent need to translate Indonesia's national digital ambitions into measurable impact in underserved regions. By convening academic researchers, government decision-makers, and private sector innovators under one roof, BAKTI Conference 2026 aims to produce actionable research, evidence-based policy recommendations, and new industry-academia partnerships focused on rural digital transformation.
BAKTI Conference 2026 runs two parallel tracks across three days:
Both tracks converge for plenary keynotes, the technology exhibition, and the Labuan Bajo field program.
