Call for Papers

BAKTI Conference 2026 invites original research contributions addressing the role of digital technology in rural economic development. We welcome submissions from academia, industry, government, and civil society.

Conference Tracks

Track 1: AI & Digital Transformation for Productive Sectors
Application of AI and digital transformation in agriculture, fisheries, energy, manufacturing, and services in rural and frontier settings. Case studies of appropriate technology deployment. Human-AI collaboration in resource-constrained environments.

Track 2: Digital Infrastructure & Connectivity
Expanding inclusive internet access to 3T regions. Satellite, mesh network, and alternative connectivity models. Infrastructure operations, maintenance, and sustainability in remote areas. Measuring the socioeconomic impact of connectivity programs.

Track 3: Enabling Digital Economy & Inclusion
E-commerce, fintech, and digital payment innovations for underserved populations. Government policy for digital literacy and ICT access. Financial inclusion and micro-enterprise digitalization. Gender and youth dimensions of digital inclusion.

Track 4: Tech Talent & Innovation Ecosystem
Building a distributed digital workforce beyond urban centers. University-industry collaboration for applied R&D and deep tech. Employment, reskilling, and the future of work in the AI era. Talent retention and brain circulation for rural development.

Submission Types

Type Length Description
Full Paper 5,000–8,000 words Original research with complete methodology and findings
Policy Brief 1,500–3,000 words Evidence-based policy analysis or recommendation (for Business & Policy Track)

Presentation Requirements

Accepted papers must be presented at the conference by at least one registered author. Each presentation is allocated:

  • Full papers: 15 minutes presentation + 5 minutes Q&A
  • Policy briefs: 10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion
